Never give up on those around you, you might be surprised. After visiting Farm Sanctuary two weeks ago my son wants to be (and is currently practicing) vegetarian. Of course it helps that his new girlfriend is a veghead. And my husband whose diet consisted of m**t and beer for forty years is slowly starting to eat more vegetables, try faux burgers and such and has cut out a lot of what he used to eat. I think people have to come to the realization that a vegan diet doesn't mean giving up, but rather finding new foods and new ways of doing things.
