I can relate! My local natural food store does a wonderful marinated tomatoes, with olive oil and basil. It's in one of those plastic tubs like you get at a salad bar. The tabs are at the front corners and I have broken fingernails and gotten the equivalent of paper cuts trying to open them. When the container finally opens, invariably I lose one or two slices of tomato and a fair amount of olive oil. I wonder if they ferment slightly and fill up the inside with enough pressure to prevent the easy opening. After the first opening, there's not such a problem. I've talked to them about it, but mostly they just shrug. Go figure.
