Thanks for the explanation, Becky. Have you tried a different browser (such as Firefox)? Maybe that would help a little.

Wow, four grandkids! I can understand why you would miss them and be excited about the next boy. You had all girls yourself, right?

That's cool that you'll be heading east eventually. Maybe we'll be able to meet up at the Vegetarian Summerfest next year! And maybe Barbie will come again and we can all hang out together! :-)

I appreciate your asking about the new residence. What I can say for now is that we are still checking it out and determining affordability. It would also be a much smaller place than where we have lived for nearly 30 years and be on one floor. So we are also trying to determine if we could manage like that without killing each other. I imagine it's similar to what you and your husband deal with on a daily basis. Among many questions we've been asking ourselves is where we would go to get away from each other, since everyone needs some private time. How do you deal with this?

One reason we are considering moving is to be proactive about planning for the future. On the plus side, moving to a much smaller place would force us to pare down. I'm sure you've dealt with this issue even more so. Where did you put all your stuff? Or did you put it into storage? I'm hoping we'll be able to get rid of a lot but still have space in our residence to store our necessities (and a few luxuries that we may not use all that frequently) without having to rent a storage unit somewhere.

Another "concern" is that Michael likes to take care of the cars and bicycles and having a private garage is very useful for that. If we move to the new place, there would be a communal parking garage, but no space or lighting to do the kind of detail work he enjoys. Although, if this would work out, we would pare down to one car and walk or bike as much as possible.

I know your movable living space has forced you to deal with some of these issues, so I'm curious what solutions you've figured out.

~Jo
