Janet, I'm so sorry! My own father died of lung cancer in 1972 at the age of 59. Treatments options were fewer then, but lung cancer is lung cancer, so it might not have made much difference. He is lucky to have you, someone who "will listen" to him, stopping by on a regular basis. Having someone to listen at that time of one's life has to be comforting. I understand how you feel about using resources for a "self-induced" illness, but I'm sure you'll feel better to know you've done what he wanted (whatever that turns out to be), in playing it all back during the long "afterward." And Janet, I'm sure I speak for the rest of our Tent-Mates when I say that we're honored to be here when you have something that needs sharing. I think it's fortunate that you happen to be going to your sessions at this time; there may be things between you and your father that could stand some airing--now, while he's still alive. I hope you'll come back with this again. Huge, hearty hugs! ~M
