End of life issues are so complicated, especially when they hit close to home. I'm so sorry about your dad's diagnosis, Janet -- I know it came as quite a blow, despite his earlier issues with the same disease. I guess if your sister and BIL pull power of attorney, there's not much you can do. Everyone sees treatment options and extending life (even at 87) differently, though I have a feeling you and I are on the same page about this. Did he (or you) sign any agreements (such as a Living Will) regarding this when he went into the home? If so, this might be covered. Of course, he may actually want the treatments. Some people want to extend their lives -- even if it is only for a few months or a year, and even if they are very, very old -- at any cost. It's a decision we each must make for ourselves, if we are competent enough to do that. I hope your sessions continue to bring light and, ultimately, peace. Keeping you close in my thoughts. Jiggledypoop,
