As of Saturday night, I'd never eaten - or thought I'd ever WANT to eat
- sushi. On a whim I splurged on a package of veg sushi (carrot,
cucumber, avocado) from a market deli case in Fancyville. I called a
friend to share (on the phone) the experience eating it in my car. I
also told her that, in case I died from the seaweed/algae/nori
(spirulina makes me ohsoviolently ill), I wanted someone to know what
happened. :)

Welllll ...

The combination with the ginger, wasabi, and soy was amaaazing to me and
I guess I fell in love because

by last night at midnight, I was eating the same sushi ... but I had
made it!! YouTube is SUCH a brilliant addition to life! Between the
videos and the Internet telling me where the nearest Japanese store is,
I was set. I'll post a link to the shortest video showing exactly what
I made.

Maybe that's how I'll finance Monsieur Le Coach beyond my friend's gift.
I'll make vegan sushi at parties! LOL!

Oh, my other longtime music friend sent me the phone number of the
potential piano teacher who lives 5 minutes away. Today (day off) my
plan is to mail the note to the violinist and call this piano teacher -
and make the trek to my session, after which I have dinner with my
childhood friend who offered this. Life is finally moving forward again!

Also, I found the perfect card in which to send the note. There's a
colorful painting of (from their perspective) 3 geese flying over water
between 2 bodies of land, as if to make a connection between the 2
lands. On it, there is a smaaalllll Chinese symbol and the word
"friendship." There is a nice quote about friendship on the back - very
apropos with no hint of romantic longing that could make him
uncomfortable. It'll be a very benign note .. mentioning his former
roommate/fellow violinist I run into occasionally (okay, and had a
semi-significant affair with a few years after he left - and then tried
again 5-6 years later - but just not a match .. shhhh) and what he's
doing musically here in L.A. ... anything relevant to give him something
to grab onto to respond, if he wants to. I'm told mail can take 2 weeks
to get there ... so I'll try to forget it after I send it, with at least
the comfort that I've done what I can do to make contact.

Happy Monday to all you funny, special femalepeople!

Jigglywaves,
Janet
