Ha, ha, Marilyn. My eyes are disappearing as I speak!!! Not to mention my lips - I don't know why I still bother with lipstick, cos you can barely see it now.
I use a dark grey shadow as a liner, applied with a shadow applicator, and just use the edge, if you see what I mean, to make a line. Thicker than eyeliner, but I had the same problem you mention with hard pencils, but the shadow seems to work well. I smudge it a bit with a Q-tip to soften. I use a grey or brown shadow on my eyelids because they are so puffy and this seems to make that disappear somewhat. Then I apply the line. Then a little mascara. After that I try to wipe some of it off because it seems too much. Plus it's hard to see what I've done because I can't do it with my glasses on!!!!! I might just start wearing sunglasses all the time.
