I started taking celexa 7 years ago when I was rediagnosed with bipolar
along with a new diagnosis of cns lupus and some other autoimmune conditions. I know that celexa, along with other meds I have taken have caused weight gain.I am gradually reducing the dose without my doctors knowledge. Ordinarily I would consult with my doctor before doing this but after about 2 years with this doctor, I have lost confidence in her. I have also reduced my depakote Er for the same reasons. After awhile one has to listen to one's body. I probably will let her know what I am doing (or try to find another pshychiatrist!...insurance is an issue of course). It's important for my health that I lose weight. I tried Prozac over 7 years ago and that's when my weight was really getting out of
