I am surprised at how similar a lot of the other stories are to mine. I was hospitalized for anorexia, and when I was released, I took up chewspitting, a "trick" I learned in the hospital. It has made me miserable in the last two years. It is worse than anorexia ever was. I am frustrated, unable to stop, have damaged my digestive system, have gained a lot of weight, have alienated friends and family and because a recluse, and it sometimes progresses to unnatural amounts of food. i want to stop. i really do. i just don't know how. i live with other people, so I can't control the foods in the house, or I would remove all trigger foods. I am fine during the day, but I can't sleep at night, and end up chewspitting. It is driving me insane. I can't sleep, I can't enjoy the food that is still making me gain weight, I'm ashamed, sick to my stomach, embarrassed, and more depressed than ever due to this horrible habit and weight gain.

Please, anyone, what has worked for you?
