Hi I have had this problem for a while - following years of anorexia, bulimia, exercise etc. It doesn't work - it's the least effective way of maintaining weight because it only makes you long for sweet stuff! I have cut down from doing it every day (twice/ three times) to now doing it once a week. Tips - don't be alone, don't have food around that you can do it with, keep busy, paint your nails, go for a walk, chew gum, suck sweets - all is better for your body, self-esteem, relationships etc. Just do anything but chew and spit - it doesn't work - it makes you feel crap - it's a vicious circle and the only way out is to STOP. Hard, but be strong - the worst bit is the first part - after a few weeks, you'll wonder what all the fuss is about. Life is way to short to spend it sitting alone in a room chewing stuff and spitting it into a bag - instead of spending money on food - go buy a pair a shoes! good luck - it's worth the battle. xxxxxxxxxx
