Hey, it's been a few months since you posted that message, so I hope you have found something that works for you. If not, I have a few suggestions.
Take note of what's going on while you eat a meal. Are you trying to read a magazine or watch tv? If so, try removing any distractions.
Try to be conscious of every bite. Ask yourself frequently: am I full yet? Once the answer is yes, do your best to stop, and try to disregard the "finish your plate for the starving children in Africa" mentality we grew up with. That's what to-go boxes and tupperware are for.
You said your meals aren't very satisfying because you've cut out everything you get hooked on. Before you get to the kitchen, try visualizing what kind of food is going to satisfy you for that specific meal. Sweet? Cold? Hot? Heavy? Light? If you can satisfy that desire immediately, maybe you can avoid eating an entire jar of heavy, oily, peanut butter when you're really craving a sweet jelly.
As for cutting out trigger foods, I'm very much in the same situation you are. Like you, I'm not large by any means, but I sometimes find it difficult just setting the fork down when it tastes so good. I also can't seem to stop thinking about food, even when I'm not hungry. Anyone else have any advice to add? Thanks!
