YES!!! i was given Celexa to treat depression while i was at an Eating Disorder facility and took it for about four or five months. I was still taking it while i was out of the hospital and was supposed to be getting myself back to a healthy weight. Well, i reached 100% of my "ideal" weight.....and then kept going. Nobody understood what was causing the weight gain, because i was still on a very anorexic diet of about 300-500 calories a day....but was GAINING WEIGHT. It wasn't at all logical. Finally, one psychiatrist realized that it was most likely the celexa, and she moved me immediately to Prozac. I've only been on the new medication for two weeks, so i don't know yet how it will work, but i am FURIOUS that they would put an ANOREXIC girl who is already TERRIFIED of weight gain on a drug that they KNOW may cause you to gain weight. I would recommend asking your doctor to switch your meds (Prozac has been known to cause weight LOSS). Good luck!
