I eat regular, balanced vegetarian meals, but lately I have developed a habit in which I chew and spit out cookies, candy bars, etc. in large amounts inorder to cope with stress, depression, and boredom. Does anyone know of any harmful effects of this habit besides the risk of tooth decay?? Could a person have an insulin reaction ? Are sugars absorbed through the gum?? Could a person gain weight even though they are not swallowing the food?? Any info would be helpful. Thank you
