The main staples of this program are described by Dr Fuhrman as GOMBS: greens (all kiinds of green veggies), onions, mushrooms, berries and beans, and seeds. These are the mainstays of his program, with some avocado, nuts and other fruits thrown in, ideally each day. On his initial program he recommends limiting starches like potatoes and corn to one serving a day. Sweet potatoes are healthier than regular potatoes, so I don't think there'd be a problem with someone following his program and having one of them a day. Just my opinion on that part.
