| Subject: | Dr. Furhman: Fasting question |

Hi Dr. Furhman,
First of all thanks to being out there spreading the Hygiene message.
I am a raw vegan (80/10/10 style, frugivorism) for more then 4 years. During this time, mostly for the first year, i did several fasts on my own, after reading Dr. Sheltons books. They were all at my home and unsupervised, but they went really well and easy.
But i have two questions:
1) I lost muscle after my first and longest fast (24 days). I dont know why, because i did a completely hygienic fast, resting all the time, etc. In the other long fasts, like even 19 days, i did not lost any muscle whatsoever. So i was wondering, is it normal to loose muscle after 21 days fast? (Albert mosseri claims that is). Or maybe was my refeeding on only fruits and veggies, completely raw and with pratically no nuts and seeds?
2) I fell terrific, better then ever and perform really well in everything that i do, even sports. But the last times i try to fast, i didnt manage to fast for llong... after 2 days i just dont fell like fasting anymore, although i know my body could benefit of it. I fell like motivated to break the fast always after the second or third day. Maybe some low nutrient reserve?
And if i could ask a third question. Do you find good muscle growth through your vegan diet? I used to lift a lot before going vegan and raw. Although my physical performance increased a lot in every way possible, and i live perfectly well, way much better then ever, i cant grow muscle anymore, since i have being lifting for the last four years but didnt had any gains.
Thanks for you attention and congratulations for being the light.
