If you dont eat meat you need at least 500 mg a day. the recommended intake is nearly tripled because the SAD is full of acidic foods (like meat, processed foods) which cause calcium leaching from the bones.

But at least 500 mg is all you need! dr.mcdougall says that some cultures do fine on 300 mg also.

and itsnot too hard to get that- oranges have tons of calcium actually, figs, spinach, broccoli, bok choy is the KING of calcium.
