I live in the US and have no problem with quality and quantity of fruits. And I live in cold winters. Of course the quality isn't as good as that you would find in a tropical region but it is still adequate. If you eat with the seasons and get variety that way, and eat enough calories for your specific needs it should not be a problem. If you feel more comfortable and better at ease eating cooked then that is fine but I would argue that eating 811 is actually far easier than any other "diet."
