went out to restaurant last nite and had a medium to large dish of lentils and the dish has given me lots of gas for like 14 hours from the time I ate it and was wondering if that means that my body did not absorb any of the health benefiting nutrients of the lentils and if that also had any negative effects on my body healthwise.

how long (how many hours) does it take one's body to fully digest legumes, lentils and for the gas to stop???

some people say to avoid beans, lentils because our bodies lack the enzyme to digest them fully, thus we are losing out on their supposedly health benefiting nutrients that our body is not absorbing...is this true?

should I thus avoid beans, legumes, lentils???

thanks for any help provided
