Fuhrman recommends eating most of your calories from vegetables, because they are the most nutrient dense. He also recommends eating a lot of fruit too. The following is from the food pyramid in his newest book. Vegetables 30-70% of calories (half cooked and half raw) Fruits 25-50% Beans and Legumes 10-30% Whole grain, Raw nuts/Seeds 5-20% (emphasis on nuts and seeds) Eggs/Fish/Fat-Free Dairy Twice Weekly Or Less Poultry/Oils Once Weekly Or Less Beef/Sweets/Cheese/Whole Milk/Processed Food/Hydrogenated Oil Rarely
