On the 6 week plan it is 3 meals a day with no snacks in-between. I've been following Dr. Fuhrman's dietary guidelines for years, and have been maintaining an optimal weight for quite some time now, and I have gotten to where I often eat only twice a day (lunch and dinner). On mornings that I go to swim practice I'll eat a small breakfast afterwards, because I work up an appetite from the swimming. As for the beans, it is a minimum of 1 cup per day.
