Water is best, however, you will notice that your usual thirst tends to disappear when eating this way, so you really shouldn't feel like drinking as much as you used to, and it won't be necessary. When eating an abundance of fruits and vegetables, you get a lot more liquid from your food than most people are used to, so the amount you will be able to drink on top of that will be pretty limited, otherwise, you will feel a bit stuffed and bloated. One of the first things that people are really surprised about when they switch to this way of eating is that their thirst goes away, and they wonder if its just them, or if its a normal thing. Besides all the liquid you get from the fruits and veggies, another thing that decreases your thirst is the fact that this is a low sodium diet. Most people consume too much sodium, and the more sodium you have in your diet, the thirstier you will be, and the more you will need to drink in order to flush out the excess. As far as what to drink besides water, you should avoid caffeinated beverages, so herbal teas would be the best choice on your list. Many of us also drink smoothies, which are made using whole fruits and vegetables, adding just the minimal amount of liquid necessary to get everything to blend.
