I just wanted to motivate some of those new to ETL or those who are still contemplating whether to start ETL or move on to another diet...
It's now 6 weeks and a day since I began my ETL lifestyle and here are the results:
Beginning weight: 93.7 KG (206.5 Lb)
Weight Today (after coming back from the Gym):85.5 Kg (188.5 Lb)
So a total of 8.2 Kg or 18 Lb in 6 weeks (and a day...).
I adhere to the Fuhrman plan as layed out in his book but my general daily routine is:
Breakfast:
* Two slices of Bread with Humus spread and about 100grams of baby lettuce and rucola.
* Two fruits (apple or peach or plum or pineapple etc...)
* 20 to 30 grams of nuts (pecan, Brazil, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachio etc...)
* Water
Lunch:
* Salad with low calorie dressing (45 cal per 100ml) - at least 100 grams of salad.
* Sometimes some fresh garden peas (uncooked).
* Two fruits
Dinner:
* Salad with low cal dressing
* Cooked vegetable dish with legumes with no oil (for example: fry onion and garlic on a teflon pan; add mushrooms and vegetables and then some lentils and water - let cook for 20 minutes and serve).
* 2 Fruit
I work out at the gym about 2 to 3 times per week - mainly on the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes so I burn about 300 cals + a little sit ups and really light weight training.
That's pretty much the story...
A very easy diet for me and my wife and the results encourage both of us to stick to this path.
This is as far as my experience goes - the most effective diet I have ever tried in my life - I have tried caloric restriction (worked for a while - but at one point you stop losing weight and stall) and the weight came back, tried increasing exercise but hurt my foot... I always felt like whatever I try - I somehow get pretty stuck and the weight comes back pretty quick. Not this time. It's great and I feel much better too.
Good Luck!!!
Cheers from Israel.
