Yesterday, I visit Vegsource and read the article on CR. Since reading that article, I researched CRON a few hours on the internet and decided to rereading the "Eat to Live" book. I had tried the program before and lost interest in less than three weeks due to being sick of salad.

In August, I had my yearly physical, (My doctor praised me for maintaining my weight for the last 6 years.) I've been basically maintaining BMI between 27 and 29 for the last six, seven years. I felt insulted that he should be compilmenting me on staying fat and I decided that I needed to return to a more regular exercise schedule and remove the empty calories for my diet. I have lost 5 kilograms during the previous month without following Dr. Fuhrman's program but by just removing the empty calories (bread, pasta, candy, etc) for my nearly vegan diet.

I was moderately overweight when I was a teen. My weight went down after having my first baby to a BMI of 23.5 and I maintained such a weight for around ten year (outside of my second pregnancy) until leaving my abusive husband around seven years ago. During my early separation from my husband, my weight skyrocketed from 58kg to over 70kg and I'm currently trying to do something about it.

The literate on CRON seems to imply that rapid weight loss is never a good policy and one should slowly lose weight until reaching an ideal weight. Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live program seems to entail rather rapid weight loss. Is such weight loss healthy and should I expect such heavy weight loss (as suggested in his book) since I've been losing weight by just reducing the junk in my diet since my late August physical?
