Yeah, I was a member of Dr Fuhrman's site for a couple years but didn't take advantage of it enough to justify the expense (I meant to ask Dr F some specific fasting questions, but never really got around to it). I still think that Dr F should free up and make public, portions of his website - i.e. the newsletters and the general area of the forum. This would do a lot of good for a lot more people. He appears a bit greedy to charge $$$ for these items in my view.
Yes, I do try to follow Eat to Live as much as possible (and shout his nutritional excellence message from the rooftops every chance I get), but I've never been able to follow it strictly on a consistent basis (although I do stay 100% vegan). My downfall is lazyness combined with large portion sizes of easily accessible convenience foods (cereals, sweets, breads). I have never actually made it the full 6 weeks.
However, I am currently on week 2 of my latest (strict no-grains) effort and have dropped 10 lbs from 155 down to 145. My goal is my high school weight of 130 (I'm a 5'7" 50 year old male). I'd like to get to the point where I look forward to eating a mess of cooked kale and collard greens, but Man Its Hard to retrain these old sweet-tooth taste buds! Although I've never been "technically" overweight, I'd sure like to get back to my healthiest: less than 1/2" of pinched belly fat. And become a black-belt like you!
Ginger is one of my favorite flavors, but I never seem to get around to eating any of it. (cutting/grating it is a pain - need to get a custom ginger-grater tool.) I'll be sure to try a bit-o-ginger in my next smoothie creation.
Thanks for the tip! =^)
