Hi Sparky I am back. I read that McDougall article about salt, I could not agree more with everything he said. On the Fuhrman diet he does not allow any salt whatsoever, NONE! It seems if you do add salt you are not even considered an ETL member. As I mentioned I do add some salt because when I tried to go saltless I would go on wild binges and I kept failing to follow the diet. Now that I add a small amount of low sodium salt I find I enjoy the food so much more and therefore stay on plan. This is exactly what McDougall was saying in the article, I just adore him. He does tend to be more realistic then Fuhrman on some levels, such as we are only human and are basically designed to crave salt. Though the typical American diet is way to high in sodium.
