If you are really serious about losing weight, you might want to forget
about bread and potatoes for at least six weeks, and substitute with
foods that have a higher nutrient per calorie ratio - vegetables. That
is really the heart of Dr Fuhrman's program. Nutritional excellence -
keeping starchy foods - grains and potatoes - at a minimum while
maximizing your consumption of vegetables and fruits. Think greens
and dark berries as well as beans.
