Subject:         actually, purple tomatoes exist in nature

certain types of heirloom tomatoes are purple. messed with the genetics to make 'em red so they'd be more "consumer acceptible".
there are also purple carrots, potatoes, etc., all of which i'm able to find in my city thanks to a wonderful organic heirloom vegetable farmer who runs a little stall in one of our open-air markets.
if you ever get a chance to try a real, non-gmo purple tomato, do it. they're amazing.
