I went from McDougall to Fuhrman. The main difference is the amount of starches -- while Fuhrman does not say no to starches, he puts limits on it for people trying to lose weight. I found, that as a compulsive eater, I have to do without the starch, because starches are major trigger foods for me, and I am unable to stop. I also liked that Fuhrman recommends certain quantities of vegetables and fruits to aim for (on my own, I would often forget to eat enough veggies -- too busy eating starches). I know many people who do well following either of them. I think McDougall and Fuhrman are pretty much on the same page -- the difference for me seems that McDougall focuses on what you should not eat, whereas Fuhrman focuses more on what you should eat. In the end, though, I don't think the two would have any arguments about what constitutes good nutrition. Do whichever works better for you personally.
