You blend it all together into a big shake. By cutting up the food in such tiny pieces, it allows your body to fully digest all the nutrients in the vegetables. I have heard of green smoothies as well. I think they are the same as a blended salad. I had one this morning. Here are the ingredients:

1/2-cup pomegranate juice
1/2-cup soy milk
5 oz. mixed greens
1 oz. cashews
1 TBSP cocoa
1 banana
2 cups frozen blueberries

blend the first 3 ingredients, add the rest and blend into a smoothie.

Delicious and very nutritious!
