Sorry to hear about your difficulties in trying to follow Eat To Live. As far as the recidivism goes, you will find that for those of us who have stuck to this long enough to actually accomplish something tangible such as weight loss and/or improved health and energy level, we tend to have surprisingly little backsliding. We come to really enjoy this way of eating, and are very successful in terms of making this a permanent lifestyle change. For so many of us, it is really an incredible feeling to have absolutely no doubt in our minds that we have finally succeeded in making a change which we know is really permanent. On this board, and on Dr. Fuhrman's member site, you will hear people talking time and again about how they have lost their cravings, and how freeing that is. Meanwhile, I do hear a lot of McDougallers talking about how they still have cravings that they are trying to fight, even after they have been on the program for a considerable amount of time. In the long term, I really do believe the ETLers have it a lot easier. Anyway... I was just wondering what you would consider a serving of starch to be. Also, if you ever wanted to try ETL again, maybe you could tell us what you ate. I'm thinking that maybe you weren't eating enough food, and that maybe we could give you some advice.
