Thanks for the long, informative post! I know there is no way to change someone's eating habits if they don't want to. But I did actually talk to him about trying it for 6 weeks and he agreed to do that. I told him he could eat however he wanted to when at work, if he'd eat with the rest of the family while at home. Which means he'll probably go out to eat every day cause he may not want the leftovers! I try to get him to read these books, but he finds them too boring or something. We have several kids with a lot of allergy/health issues and I think this would really help them out. Basically I phrased it this way, "You know how we'd try anything to help our kids feel better? What if we did this..." So I got him to commit to trying 6 weeks of unprocessed foods w/no refined sweeteners, sparing meat, dairy & grains as well as gluten free! I actually don't have Eat to Live, I have the Disease-proof your child book, so I'm not totally sure what the difference is in with the diet. None of us have weight issues here, in fact many of my kids are probably underweight. So now I have to figure out what to make! Any really good recipe book recommendations that are good for beginners? I think I'll start this in the summer when the kids are out of school so I can plan till then and eat up all the food in my freezer first. :)
