Snickers wrote a fantastic response to your request; definitely read it; very insightful.

I have another suggestion to do in conjunction with those. Buy your husband Dr. F.'s Eat to Live book and have him read it. If he doesn't like to read much, ask him to read it as a favor to you. The book has all the whys and all the logic in it for eating healthy and is geared to adults, not kids. It may speak more to him. Once he reads the book, he will KNOW that sweets, treats, and the American way of eating are not good for him. And he will KNOW WHY specifically. Plus there are adult examples in the book. But as Snickers says, only he can decide to go for it at some point.
But getting him this information is a good first step, while you are also planning better meals, etc.
