Lillian,

I've only been on the ETL diet a few weeks but both my husband and I have lost weight during that time. I've lost 5 pounds and my husband 10. But I tried starch-based diets twice and gained weight and didn't feel good. Have decided the grains and starch-based diet is not good for me. In fact, I had looked for a long time for a vegetable-based diet because I knew that is the healthiest. For many years, every time I've wanted to lose weight or to improve health for myself or a member of my family, I've turned to the vegetables and they have helped. So I am thrilled to find ETL. ETL is helping me sleep better and my husband's prostate symptoms are improving. My energy level is high and I don't seem to have hypoglycemia anymore. So I am delighted.

ETL has taught me a lot about how to live by a vegetable-based diet. The blended salads are terrific. I usally have one for breakfast. And then if I am still hungry some nuts or seeds. This morning I had an apple and spinach blended with a cup of water. And then some walnuts.

For lunch we generally have a bean-vegetable stew. I have beginning macular degeneration so I always eat a cup daily of kale or collard greens. My husband has a salad with lunch, I have another blended salad.

And in the evening, he has another salad. I have another blended salad and more nuts or seeds.

If we get really hungry between meals we snack on raw vegetables (carrot sticks, cucumber, etc) or a piece of fruit or a few nuts or seeds.

I'm 5 ft 2 in and now weight 115#. I'm small boned. I still need to lose some to get rid of excess fat around the waist and belly. Altogether over the last 5 years I've lost 51# -- losing a little and keeping it off and then losing more and keeping it off. And every time I've lost it was by turning to more low-starch vegetables. I am finding it much easier to lose on ETL and especially losing these last few pounds which are said to be the hardest.

Hope this is somehow helpful to you.

Dandi
