Please stop visiting sites like Omivore-dot-whatever as a first step to better health!! Maybe this is a joke entry? If not.... Your plant-based diet is the healthiest diet you could be eating for longevity, healthcare and your mind. Disease-proofing is what Dr. Fuhrman calls it. In his book Eat to Live, Dr. F does mention that while scant studies have been done on vegans, the ones that have been done show their diet VASTLY superior to any diet in terms of cancer prevention, heart attack and stroke prevention, dementia prevention, and so on. Additionally, the highly respected "Fellow" from Cornell Univ., Dr. Campbell, concludes in his ground-breaking book, The China Study, that giving up meat is the best step one can take for improved health, based on his findings (a long, comprehensive study of populations in China).
