I am finally back on track. It is actually Day 5 for me now. I had a few relapses since the last time I posted. It always amazes me how strong withdrawal can be from sugar. Maybe this time I will just stay on track instead! It makes me wonder what people go through who are hooked on cocaine, alcohol, cigarettes or other highly addictive substances. A friend of mine is in OA who is a recovering alcoholic tells me that food is harder because you have to eat 3 times a day whereas alcohol is not necessary for living. I can believe it. I live in Georgia where people in general don't drink as much as they did in NY. There are fewer choices for healthy foods when you go out to eat, however. It is amazing just how prevalent rich food is in our society. I am constantly running across free junk food that people bring in to work or free samples of cookies in the grocery store. This can be a huge trigger for me. I have to avoid it altogether or I'm right back into the food. How have you been doing with the food?
