I just recently looked at some earlier posting here. Decided to start another post as it was so far down the line. First of all, J.A. and others who don't like salads, if you hate bitter foods, DON'T choose herb salads!! They are full of bitter greens. These are for people who love them or who wish to add some to their regular salad greens, like romaine. Choose instead the mild "Bibb" if you want to try "lettuce." Also those of you who eat raw cruciferous, it's not good for your thyroid! They contain substances that interfere with thyroid hormone production. These are meant to be eaten at least steamed! Raw carrots--well, good for fiber, but not good for absorbing the beta-carotene, which is better absorbed from COOKED carrots. You need both raw and cooked food to prosper. See Dr. Greger's website for more information. I don't remember which newsletter, but one of them talks about that.
