My husband had very high triglycerides and his blood sugar was moving into the diabetic range. He successfully improved both of these by eating McDougall, exercising, and cutting out all fruit. His blood sugar was in the normal range on his last blood test; his triglycerides were still high, but had come down a lot.

Now we are doing E2L, with more emphasis on salads and veggies, and less on grains. We made this change because our weight loss had plateaued. Dr Fuhrman's book suggests that fruit is important, even if you have high triglycerides. So my husband added some fruit back into his diet. Other nutritionists, even Dr. McDougall, recommend avoiding fruit if your triglycerides are very high. Then there are the blood sugar concerns. Does anyone have experience with fruit and high triglycerides/high blood sugar? DH loves fruit, but he is nervous about eating it.
