You can spend as little or as much as you want on a scale to weigh veggies, nuts, etc. An inexpensive postal scale will do: put a dish on top and find out how much the dish weighs. Then add your veggies, and just subtract the weight of the dish. Bed, Bath and Beyond also has various types of kithcen scales. I wanted to accurately weigh the amount of greens I was putting in blended salads, so I sprang for a $75 Cuisinart kitchen scale. It is large and flat, so you can set a plate on it. What I really like is that by pushing a button you can re-set it to "zero" after putting the plate, so whatever food you add on top will show its actual weight. I've been using 10 ounces of romaine in our blended salads. I also find it really helpful to know the exact amount (in weight) of nuts that I consume, or add to a recipe. LaurieInOklahoma
