One needs a separate machine for extracting juice from vegetables (Dr. Fuhrman does not recommend consumption of FRUIT juice). If we had to consume all of the fiber from blending vegetables in the Vita-Mix, we could never take in the high quantity of nutrients that Dr. F. is after when he recommends juicing. I have a Breville Juice Fountain juicer which I bought at Amazon. Unfortunately, it cost $300, but I will use it practically every day for as long as it lasts, so for me it was worth the price. It makes TONS more juice from a given amount of vegetable than does my sister's Breville Juice Fountain, which she bought at Amazon for $100 (with a coupon or something, down from $150). Buying a juicer is a bit tricky, because different brands of juicers are good at different things. What I LOVE about the Breville is that it has a wide feed tube, so you don't have to cut your vegetables into small pieces before making the juice!! This ends up making a huge difference in efficiency. I make Dr. Fuhrman's blended soups all the time, and can't imagine doing all the vegetable cutting that would be necessary to make the juice in any other juicer. So--- we need the fiber from consuming lots of fruits and vegetables in their whole form, but also the gazillions of nutrients (I'm a stickler for scientific accuracy, you can see...) we get from consuming vegetable juice. If you do a Google search on "juicers, reviews", you can find out about some different kinds of juicers. I started out with a little Juiceman Junior, very inexpensive. Then my sister got her Breville, and I saw the wide feed chute. About a year later I got my own Breville, and I absolutely cannot imagine being without it. LaurieInOklahoma
