Hi Charlie:

To give you another perspective, I have not lost quite as fast as many say they have, but I have lost consistently. Maybe part of it is my age (48) and that I am short (5'3"), but I always lose slowly when I'm on a special eating program.
I have been on Dr. F's program for about 15 weeks now. The first 6 weeks I lost 11 pounds, which is a great rate for me. I was thrilled. The second 6 weeks I lost 8 lbs. Now, 15 weeks into the program I've lost 19 lbs. I weigh 124 now and am working toward a 118 goal, so I am close to my goal. I think the people who lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks have a lot to lose (as Dr. F. mentions in his book), are young,are blessed with a fast metabolism, or don't eat the portions recommended in the plan.

I work out hard five-six days a week too (step aerobics, kickboxing, and spinning). Before class I eat a raw energy bar (usually Larabars), which is my one deviation from the program.
