I like to use basil to spice up my cooking; but is it safe to use anything more than a pinch or two? Some sources indicate that it has significant amounts of a cancer-causing substance. Other sources say that it has lots of antioxidants and other good stuff, and might even be a cancer inhibiter or preventer, as well as an anti-inflamatory agent. To pesto or not to pesto one's pasta, that is the question. Thanks.
