Last September I had gout on my left big toe. I couldn't walk and I missed a week of work. It took 2 doctors 5 days of tests to diagnose that it even was gout and (after more tests) they have no idea what caused it because all tests came back "normal". They gave me several meds that didn't work and it seemed to go away on its own. Exactly 1 year later I got it again but only this time it was on my right big toe. Not as bad but it lasted longer. I still feel a little bit gouty even after E2L and a 10 day fast. Nothing seems to help. Wish my news was more encouraging. Good Luck.
