Good morning, First, I'm so sorry about your loss. This is a big deal, and it will continue to be a big deal for you for awhile to come. Don't underestimate that. Second, it strikes me that 17 lbs in 2 months is definitely something to get your attention (and it did). But you are not underweight, so you're probably not in any kind of trouble. And people do go through phases when they just don't feel like eating certain things, or when their appetites disappear. Most likely, it will eventually come back on its own - but if you continue to lose weight in this way, eventually you'll need to take action. As long as you don't feel weak or faint, and can do all the things you need to like go to work and exercise, don't worry too much about the calories. (You may be getting more calories than you realize.) My instinct is, don't force yourself to eat, you'll only feel worse. But do make sure that you eat as much really healthy food as you can, when you feel like it. And try to eat a little something at regular meal times, even if it's not much. How would you feel about adding some beans to your soups? Or, for a change, pour some soup over a small baked potato. That would get you more fiber and a few more carbs. Also, can you substitute something for one of those grapefruits, like a banana? You're getting an aweful lot of citrus, and that can mess up your PH levels. It might not hurt you, but it's something to be mindful of. Also, if you're just not feeling like preparing any "difficult" fruits, think of things that are easy - check the local grocery store for fruit that is already cleaned and cut up, ready to eat like melons, same with prepared fresh veggies. (In fact, I need to pick up some veggies myself today.) Yes, they cost a fortune, but right now, you need the convenience, so spend the money if you can. Have you sought any kind of counseling? This could help you on the emotional side. Good luck, and again, my sympathies. RS
