ALPA, Bean requirement: at least 1 cup per day; you can eat more. If you don't like avocado, I suggest eating another ounce of nuts or another tablespooon of ground flax for the oils. This extra is optional, but you may need it if your skin and hair are dry. cooked veggies- 1 lb --use a 14-16 ounce bag or box of frozen veggies such as broccoli, spinach, green peas, veggie mixes which will be the pound. About 3-4 cups of veggies is a pound depending on the veggie (except lettuce which is more). raw veggies-1 pound Keep the 16 ounce = 1 lb rule in mind--if you buy a bag of romaine lettuce that's 12 ounces, you'll have 2/3 of a pound. These are goals to shoot for...and you can go over on Dr. Furhrman's plan.
