Eat eat and eat some more. It sounds like you are underfed. You don't have to 'trick' the body into thinking it is full. That will not work in the long run, and is outmoded 'diet think'. Think 'eating plan'. I eat whole grains (I'm in between DrF and McDougall on this point). One sample DrF breakfast is a couple of oranges, a cup of oatmeal, an ounce of walnuts and an ounce of raisins. That is quite a lot of food. Grains are also inexpensive. Just favour whole grains over that refined stuff (white italian/french and other useless breads). My faves are rolled oats (not instant oatmeal) and Ezekiel sprouted breads (a bit expensive). I never have just fruit for breakfast. If I have a blender drink, I add some ground flax seeds (I usually add half a scoop of soy protein powder, its not perfect E2L, but only 12 grams of extra protein). I would suggest favouring cooked veggies and try to increase your raw veg over time. Make gigantic pots of soup. Tubs of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are very inexpensive. some seeds and nuts and a bit of avocado 'flesh' out a salad nicely. Cheat with some creamy dressing, and reduce the amount you use over time. After a while you will only want a tiny amount of dressing, or even none. I just use fresh lime juice now, find those bottled dressings too strong flavoured. Red peppers are a good veggie to sweeten a bitter salad. You taste buds will change over a few weeks. Neal Barnard uses the example of a milk drinker switching to skim and thinking it tastes like chalk, then trying the old milk a bit later and thinking it tastes like cream. Did I mention eat eat and eat some more ;-) Steve
