College vegan, I just wanted to say that I have the same problem with constipation if I go without grains (one of the reasons I don't cut them out completely). I find that the flax seed really does help this, so if you're not using it, give it a try. If I were you, I'd find a good creamy dressing that you like to get you into eating raw veggies (like one of the tofu ranch dressings). Maybe later your tastes will change and you will like raw veggies better. Or try dipping cut veggies into a low-fat hummus. I know that when I first started out, I didn't care for salads much either and I had to rely on creamier dressings to get them down. But now I eat them every day and actually look forward to them. So tastes do change. Just hang in there!
