No, Bersch I dont think the bible was written to tell people that destroying the earth was o.k. But this god that we were made in the image of must not be the most intelligent god, becuase when he spoke with these prophets back in the day, he must have not have been thinking much of how his words would be twisted on a massive wide scale range, and used to our benefit (after all he knows our hearts and whats in them) Because the way i see christianity in the hands of "unconscious" or "ignorant" people, is probably one of the most dangerous forces going against the environment. Think about it, subconsiously some people, SOME!, will exploit their beliefs for their own use. i.e a dirty business man, who strongly believes that no matter what he does his god will love, and on judgement day he will ascend into heaven. So that leaves us with an ignorant person (or anybody that is strictly looking out for themselves)now falsely empowered with gods love who will now have no regard for he does to the planet. I mean afterall hes is going to heaven afterwards. So, what does it matter.
Sorry for any offense I have implanted, but im just saying what I think.
