GMO isn't that much of a factor. Animals, insects, etc. are driven to extinction by our current crops because we use so much land. GMO crops really don't have an impact, compared to current methods. Only difference is we'd lose a few butterflies. Drive in the midwest and look at all the fields. How many animals are gone because of that? We will have more of an impact by focussing on foods that aren't grown on land.

Methods such as hydroponics and others would have a better impact on our environment then non-GMO foods.

We'd be better off pushing for this kind of product that could be grown in skyscrapers or something that doesn't require land usage. Beating GMO into the ground only distracts from the issue of the environmental destruction being done currently from none-GMO products.
