I will be 50 next year and I can remember this tradition in our family forever. My mother is Italian and she was the one to introduce my father to the tradition way back when. We burn one every Christmas Eve and New Years Eve....always in the tub or shower where it is sure not to fall over during the night. We own a restaurant and even burn one in the restaurant for good luck and prosperity...in a safe location of course. Our family has always prospered and we believe it's partly due to our belief in our Bayberry Candle tradition. I think we'd be afraid not to burn one in each of our homes and restaurant. We have shared this tradition with many of our friends.
