Also in Pittsburgh, and been using the imatations for the last several years, in an attempt to keep the tradition alive. My mother burnned them every new years eve. If she left the house, she put them in the kitchen sink, and took down the kitchen curtain. She would not snuff them ,they had to burn all the way.
